We’ve heard about many brides who try on a gown in a salon, then search the designer and style number online to find the dress at a lower price. What you may not realize, though, is that most websites claiming to sell designer dresses for less may be selling counterfeit gowns.

What this means for you is that the look and quality will not be anything near what you just tried on in the salon. And even more importantly, these online stores tend not to stand behind their products, meaning that if you have a problem with the gown, they’re not going to solve it. And since the dress is not from an authorized retailer, the designer is also not likely to correct the mistake.  Bridal Boutiques have experienced a number of stories from brides who ordered there gown from a on-line source, the gown, well it never come in and the bride paid in full for her on-line gown.  

A note from Allyson

I recently had a bride who came in and said she ordered her Allyson Simone Bridal Gown from an on-line source after she tried it on in a Boutique, she paid for her Allyson Simone Gown  in full.  The gown, well it was not anything near the Allyson Simone Gown in the Boutique.  She brought the gown to my boutique thinking Allyson Simone designed this gown, the bride did not realize she was talking to Allyson Simone the actual designer. As the bride continue her story, the bride purchase her counterfeit Allyson Simone gown from a on-line company.  The bride lost 1200.00 plus a shipping fee, plus a rush fee and since the bride felt she was getting a good deal she ask for more lace, and she still needed to pay to have alterations and the dress was nothing like the one in the boutique she tried on, the total without alterations is 2100.00, the bride lost this amount from buying on-line from some illegal bridal web.site.  The real Allyson Simone Gown was only 1900.00, um……… 

I hear this story day after day from brides not only with Allyson Simone Gowns but all designer gowns.  I will never understand a bride when she finds her true love gown she will go on-line to save a few 100.00 dollars to buy the same gown she already found.  The bride will find herself in one of the stories above…….
